Have a look at this smoke-paint Diamond Back!  That straight-blade fork is pretty great right?  So sleek!
I love all the 80s style decals.  The smoked gray on white paint is pretty legendary too.

I scour the earth in search of vintage steel bikes that have survived hard miles and neglect. These old bikes are much tougher than we give them credit for, and most have many more miles left in them than we can hope to ride.
The frames are cold-set to "modern" 135mm dropout spacing, and the dropouts and derailleur hanger are aligned.
ISO standard disc brake mounts are brazed on to the frame and fork. Paint, cantilever bosses, and extra cable stops are all removed with a grinder. Hydraulic brake compatible cable guides are epoxied on.
Finally the frame is clear-coated to prevent rust on bare metal and to lock in the stories told by the scratches and dents.
The result is somewhere between the futuristic dreams of 1990 and the need for escape to simplicity from a red bull and carbon fiber crazy world.
