Description
Eddy Merckx Corsa - Motorola Team Colors. This sale is for a frame set, including both the frame, fork and Campagnolo headset.
This Eddy Merckx frame has Serial No. C D9290. Based upon literature, this appears to be a 1992 to 1993 build.
This is a beautiful frame in extremely good condition. This is a Corsa model with SL tubing (Columbus-SL). The top tube has internal routing. There are mounting locations for two bottle cages with blue anodized screws.
MEASUREMENTS
Top Tube: 53 centimeters
Down tube: 60 centimeters
Seat Tube: 52 centimeters
Seat Stays: 51 centimeters
Chain Stays: 41 1/2 centimeters.
The only visible marks on the top of the frame are at the exit of the internal routing opening on the top tube, and some slight marks around the seat post area. There is a minor touch up at the very top edge of the head tube. There is a nick on the derailleur hanger and some slight scratches on the internal portions of the chain stay/seat stay/rear axle drop out. Additionally, there are some very minor marking on the bottom side of the bottom bracket. The front derailleur hanger appears to be touched up, slightly.
This is an outstanding bike. Eddy Merckx Corsa made of Columbus SL tubing, Belgium handmade. Fork and frame all in Motorola team colors
Considering the age of this Vintage Frame, the condition would be considered outstanding.

NICE MERCKX CORSA (COLUMBUS SL) FRAMESET, MOTOROLA, 52.5/53 cm
This is the fastest frameset I have ever ridden. Rides unlike any other Merckx I have ridden, including corsa extras, MX leaders, Ti majestic and Ti millennium, maybe because of the material or geometry, or maybe because it was a bit smaller than what I normally ride. It felt like I was on top of the wheels, not between them, and it felt like a diesel train or a tank that could plow over just about any terrain. The frameset felt best going at high cadence, and once you got up to speed, it surprisingly didn’t take much to maintain that speed. So my rides were fast for a good distance on this frameset. It always felt fabulous.
Purchased it used and put maybe 500 miles on it over the years.
Merckx Corsa, SL tubing, not SLX. Includes Campagnolo headset that came with it, worked fine for me but is far from new. Paint is in pretty good shape for its age, glossy, with some small chips and a small touched up area on the top of the head tube, and paint missing in the typical wear areas (the front derailleur bracket and dropouts). Includes a sticker for Parker Cycles in the UK so it was probably first sold there. The Columbus SL sticker is still in great shape. Missing the seat post bolt. No dents or dings, not raced or crashed by me.
Dimensions by my measurement:
Top tube ctc: approx. 53.0 cm
St ctc: approx. 52.5 cm
Head tube length: 10.6 cm.
Serial numbers on bottom of bottom bracket shell:
“D 9290” on one side, “2C” on the other.
