- Bought brand new from Mavic in February 2020
- Upgraded both front and rear to Titanium axles which saved another 160 grams and made these wheels as bomb proof as they can be
- Wheels are super smooth and spin forever, true and intact. Used on velodrome surfaces only, no street use but I am led to believe from description below that they are very durable for street use too.
- No brake wear at all, have been ridden brakeless all the time of ownership. No cracks or any imperfections of any kind. Some minor scratches on bolts from constant removal of the wheels whenever I would drive to the velodrome track in my car.
- Tires are Schwalbe Pro One in 30mm width, front has a very lightweight nylon tube in it due to personal preference and comfort. Rear is setup tubeless.

These wheels were developed with racers who initially rode our proven Ellipse training wheels, a standard for velodrome and fixed gear winter training. In an effort to elevate those racers’ performance possibilities, we tested various rim depths, spokes and lacing styles in tubular, clincher, and then UST Tubeless. That process led to the Ellipse Pro Carbon UST.
The 64mm deep Comete Pro Carbon UST rims are laced up with 20 patented steel aero spokes on our sturdy Ellipse hub. The rear hub is flip-flop style, so you can mount one cog on each side and make quick gear ratio swaps according to the racecourse or terrain.
