The GT-3000, when used properly, tests for gold content on jewelry alloys between 6 karat and 18 karat and will also help determine whether or not an item is solid gold or gold plated. It also helps identifies platinum group metals. This proven design fits most jewelers and pawn brokers needs in helping determine gold content accurately and dependably.
Each time an item is tested, a number will appear on the LED readout. Simply read across the gold testing result chart on the front of the machine to find the correct karat. Due to the nature of the electronic testing and the varieties of the test procedures, a slightly different number can appear each time an article is tested. This information can help the professional operator decide whether the gold content is just barely 14K or slightly more than 14K. Simple and easy to use.
