Vintage Crescent Pepita Varldsmastarcykeln ( "World Champion Cycle") Frame SetThis frame set is 50 years old
Crescent is a dominant Swedish bicycle brands. Its roots go deep to the 19th century. For quite a while, it was very closely bound with another major Swedish brand - Monark, which explains many similarities. In the 1960s and early 1970s, these two companies existed alongside each other and the model differed mainly by components used and the paint job. Crecent was known for its bright orange color, just like this bike. They were THE dominant brands in Swedish racing, and also sold a lot in Norway and Finland. In the late 70's the company marketed Crescent as the top end quality bike while Monark became a more entry level brand and was out of racing .
If you take a look at this Crescent Classic Road Bike from the 1970s, you can immediately tell that they did care about quality. The steel tubes, made of Reynolds 531 steel tubes, are connected with beautiful Nervex professional lugs.
This vintage Crescent Varldsmastarcyklen is known as the "World Master Cycle".
The frame is in overall good condition. It has no dents, cracks and it is not bent. The original paintwork has a few paint chips from its fifty (50) plus years of use. It still has its traditional wrap around head badge.
