Vintage kart racing Komet K-35 135cc reed valve engine

Description

I got this K-35 in a buyout. The cases look good inside and out. The aluminum cylinder muff looks good. The cylinder sleeve or liner is missing a piece probably when the piston broke. The cylinder head looks good on the outside but the combustion chamber squish area must be cleaned up to be usable. The crankshaft halves look ok. The tapers and threads can be cleaned up for service, examine photos to decide. The rod seems ok (prior owner cleaned the rod surface). It will need big end pin and bearing replacement to be sure.
This item needs work to run or it can be parted out.
Buller Built can sleeve it at 54.0mm. Commonly available IAME Sudam/Parilla X-30 pistons and rings can then be used. In the alternative, Komet K-35 or K-30 sleeves can be found with some luck. Komet IAME pistons do show up on ebay. Haddock Ltd., Speed Parts Co. and Lake Speed may be good sources also.
